A salvage yard in West Deer caught fire Saturday afternoon and burned for more than two hours before firefighters were able to extinguish it, a county dispatch supervisor said.
Firefighters were summoned at 12:16 p.m. to a tool shed fire that quickly spread at Blazczak Salvage on Kaufman Road at 12:16 p.m. Crews from at least eight departments were battled the two-alarm blaze, which was declared under control at 2:17 p.m.
The county fire marshal and officials with the state Department of Environmental Protection were called to the scene. No one was injured. The cause has not been determined.
