Where to go ... Pennsylvania Wilds
Sunday, September 05, 2010

What to do: It's a vast million-acre swath of the state notable for its relative lack of commercial development. Marketed as a tourist destination, the Wilds of Northcentral Pennsylvania roughly stretch from Ridgway to Williamsport and from Clearfield to the New York state line. With no major metropolitan areas, the Wilds have space for a wild elk herd, old growth forests, mountain lakes and streams, the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, many miles of hiking and biking trails and overnight accommodations including the new Nature Inn at Bald Eagle State Park.
